It was a typical Saturday night at Renee’s Courtyard Bar…
James came outside to chat with his friends, and found them sitting at a table with this beautiful brunette girl. Her name was Roxanne. And the topic of conversation at the table, of all things, was ice hockey.
James and Roxanne chatted about their mutual love for the sport (what are the chances?? a LA-raised girl who loves hockey?!). They also talked about about how awesome it would be if they went to Frozen Fury together (an annual LA Kings pre-season game in Las Vegas).
They spoke for only a few minutes that night, but there was an immediate spark. Three months later, they did go to Frozen Fury. And love — as well as pucks — was in the air…
In August of 2011, they moved into their beach bungalow together, and have been living the dream ever since.
James grew up on the East Coast, in a small town in Connecticut where the most exciting thing to do was hang out at the local Mobil station. He went to college at Syracuse University, where he studied Television and Film, and discovered his passion for writing. Immediately after college, he moved out to Los Angeles (without a job or even an apartment) to pursue his dream of being a comedy writer.
James currently works at South Park as an Associate Producer, writing copy for the website and running worldwide social media for the brand. On the side, he runs his website Pizza Comedy, and is working towards his dream of being a [paid] comedy writer.
Roxanne is a Southern California girl, raised in the sunny beachside community of Torrance, CA. From a young age, she showed a passion for all things art, and followed that dream as she went to college at UCLA, majoring in Art History.
Roxanne works at Beachbody as a Media Manager, but she is currently pursuing her dream career. In addition to her full-time job, she is in a Graduate program through the Academy of Art University and working towards her Masters in Fine Art (aka – a lot of painting, art history, and late-nights at the easel). But her passion goes beyond the classroom — she also runs her own blog By Bun, and has custom designed, hand-drawn and painted every single one of the Save The Dates.
